Guidelines and Rules
1. Identity Card
An identity card is compulsory for getting access to the library.
2. Silence
Silence is to be maintained.
3. No Discussions
No discussion is permitted inside the library
4. Library Membership
Registration should be done to become a library member prior to using the library resources.
5. No personal belongings
No personal belongings allowed inside the library.
6. No Mobile
Using a mobile phone is strictly prohibited in the library premises.
7. Not Transferable
Library borrower’s cards are not transferable. The borrower is responsible for the books borrowed on his / her card.
8. No refreshments
Refreshment of any kind shall not be taken anywhere in the library premises.
9. Working Hours
Working Hours of the library – Monday – Saturday: 9am to 5pm
10. Responsibility
Circulation: Books will be issued on the presentation of library cards. Students will be responsible for any type of damage or mutilation noticed at the time of return.
11. Overdue Charges
Materials borrowed should be returned on or before the due date stamped, if returned late overdue fine i.e. Rupees five per day per book will be charged for the delayed period.
12. Book Lost
If the books are lost then the borrower shall replace the books of the same edition or latest edition or pay the current cost of book after getting permission from the librarian.
13. Loss of library cards
Loss of library cards should be reported to the librarian. The duplicate card may be issued against formal application and fine.
14. Validity of cards
Library borrower cards are valid for the entire duration of the course to access library facilities. At the end of the course, borrower cards shall be returned to the library.
15. No due Certificate:
Each student shall obtain No dues certificate from the library after returning all the books issued, surrendering the borrower’s cards, and after paying the outstanding dues if any.
16. Care of library books
Students are required to handle the books/ journals very carefully; writing or highlighting, tearing the pages, or mutilating the same in any other way will be viewed very seriously. In such a case, the reader shall be held responsible unless these are brought to the notice of the library staff at the time of issue.
17. Reference Section
This section has Encyclopaedia, Dictionaries, Textbooks, Reference books etc. which are only available for reference.
18. Journal Section
In these section journals, general magazines are available. The latest issues are displayed on display racks and other previous issues are arranged in the drawer. These are available only for reference in the library.
19. Book Bank
Book bank facility is available to the students and teachers semester wise. Books shall be returned within two days after theory examination.
